How to setup your new email!

Congratz! You got an email account!
This tutorial will show you how to set up your email using Mail or Outlook.

How To (Mac + iPhone)

Instructions to setup your email using Mac Mail. Hold on to your potatoes!
This tutorial will also assist with setting your mail on your iPhone.
(If you want to use Outlook, skip to this section)

  1. Make sure you have your email password! You cannot continue this tutorial without it.
  2. Login to your webmail portal, click here to reveal
    1. Enter your full email address. This includes the @aktenterprises.com, @districtlines.com ...etc
    2. Enter your email password. Remember your email is case-sensitive and must be entered exactly as it was given.
  3. Once you have logged in click your email in the top right , click on "Configure Mail Client".
  4. At the top of the page is a section titled "Mail Client Automatic Configuration Scripts". Using the column titled "Application" find the option that suits the computer you are currently using based on the operating system (Mac, iPhone, iPad or PC) and the version number.
  5. Once you have found your appropriate computer select the "IMAP over SSL/TLS" link. Download the file.
  6. After the download has finished locate the file that you downloaded.
  7. Double click on the download to run the install.
  8. Follow the instructions on the screen, you will be ased to input your email password.
  9. That's it!
  1. Open Mail on your Apple Computer. If you're using a PC, you need to use Outlook so go to this section.
  2. Go to 'Mail' in the menu then 'Add Acount...'
  3. Select 'Add Other Mail Account...'
  4. Fill out this part using the info you were given. Pretty straight forward.
    ( Your Account will need to be manually configured. As you continue, there will be
    messages about "Additional Information". Just ignore those and press on. )
  5. IMPORTANT! - If you have a @districtlines.com email, still use the settings below.
    a5.aktenterprises.com is the domain for our mail server, regardless of the @aktenterprises.com or @districtlines.com
  6. For 'Incoming Mail Server Info', use the settings below!:
    Account Type
    Mail Server
    User Name
    Password
  7. 'Incoming Mail Server Info' PART 2 :
    Path Prefix
    Port
    Use SSL
    Authentication
  8. Use these settings for 'Outgoing Mail Server':
    SMTP Server
    User Name
    Password
  9. 'Outgoing Mail Server Info' PART 2. :
    Port
    Use SSL
    Authentication
    User Name
    Password
  10. Click Create, then BOOM! Now you have an email account for you to receive emails, forward a link to some cat videos you think Jared would like, whatever you need to do.







How To (Outlook)

Ewww! You use Outlook! Well, here are the instructions to setup your email using Microsoft Outlook.
(Instructions and Screenshots may differ depending on what version you are running )

  1. Open Microsoft Outlook.
  2. Click 'File'.
  3. Click 'Add Account'.
  4. Select 'Manual setup or additional server types'.
  5. Select 'Internet Email'.
  6. This next part will have a few sections which we will walk through one at a time.
  7. Use the settings below for 'User Information':
    Your Name
    Email Address
    Password
    Retype Password
  8. Under 'Server Information' use the settings below:
    Account Type
    Incoming mail server
    Outgoing mail server
  9. Almost done! For 'Logon Information' use these settings:
    User Name
    Password
    Remember Password
  10. Check "Test Account Settings by clicking the Next Button".
  11. Your email account might require additional settings. Below are the steps and settings that you will need to do and fill out.
    1. Click 'More Settings'.
    2. Go to the 'Advanced tab'.
    3. Under 'Server Port Numbers' use the settings below:
      Incoming server ( IMAP )
      Outgoing server ( SMTP )
    4. For both the 'Incoming server ( IMAP )' and 'Outgoing server ( SMTP )' sections, select 'SSL' for the encryption connection.
    5. Click 'OK'
  12. Now that you're back to the main window, click Next. A window should pop-up which tests out ther account settings.
    If the test is successful, close that window and continue to the next.
    If it doesn't complete or throws an error, close the window and double check your work.
  13. Click Finish, then BOOM! Now you have an email account for you to receive emails, forward a link to some cat videos you think Jared would like, whatever you need to do.
